About

About Us

St. Joseph’s Convent Girls’ High School has been a beacon of education and character formation since its establishment in 1899. Rooted in the vision of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes, we are committed to nurturing intellectually enlightened, emotionally balanced, and skill-based youth to serve society. Our institution is dedicated to holistic education, fostering academic excellence, ethical values, and a spirit of service.

Our Legacy

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes began their mission in 1899, establishing a primary school for Indian girls in a house donated by Smt. Rajamma Thumboo Chetty. Over the decades, the institution grew into St. Joseph’s Convent Girls’ High School, celebrating major milestones such as the Silver Jubilee in 1968 and the Golden Jubilee in 1994.

Recognizing the need for higher education, St. Joseph’s Pre-University College for Girls was inaugurated on June 22, 2009 (Grant No. ED175SHH2009), under the leadership of Sr. Sagaya Mary B. Initially, the college offered Science, Commerce, and Arts streams with four combinations: PCMB, PCMC, HESP, HESPsy, and SECA. Today, under the guidance of Sr. Regi Kuriakose, the college has grown to a student strength of 450.

Our Mission

Spiritually inspired, we become intellectually enlightened, emotionally balanced, and skill-based youth to serve society.

Our Vision

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes envision an integrated human formation for COMMUNION in society.
